This morning I am trying to rouse myself from a long and heavy sleep to begin writing about cross-country again. It's Tuesday, the second day of pre-season at NNHS, and I'm still stuck in summer. It doesn't help to see that I haven't posted anything to my blog since the end of May. Where has the time gone?
Seasons have beginnings and ends, but running is a continous process that flows through the summer months like a river. Since watching the All-State track meet in June, I have run a lot of miles and thought a lot about running. One of the fun things about the fall is to see kids who have spent time running over the summer and have been transformed by their training.
I will try to post regularly about the Newton North XC teams, as well as post news items and results about NNHS alumni who are running in college. In the next few days, I'll try to offer my preview of the season and the likely competition within the Bay State League. I'll also work on updating all the pages on the NNHS Track and Cross-Country web site (www.nnhsxc.net).
If you have a comment or a suggestion, please post a reply here, or let me know in person or by email.
