Brookline scores the minimum 15 points to obliterate NN's record from 2002. Sam Miller ran bravely in the early going, and was still in second with a mile to go when Brookline's pack closed in. Matt Stewart ran his best race of the year to nab 5th. North had a good pack, led by Seb.

After Brookline, Needham took second and Newton North finished third, ahead of both Wellesley and Weymouth (two teams that defeated North in their dual meets).

any reasons for the slow times? two years ago, the last all-star (12th, 16:48) would have been like 25th place, where i remember someone else being...

The 20 mph winds didnt help, nor did the driving rain. I dont think the league is a deep as its been on the boys side. The girls race on the other hand showcased equal times to last year in harsher conditions. That side of the league is very strong (4 to all-states?)

By 4 to all states im assuming you mean the top 4 finishers in the league? Am I correct?

You say Becca White did "a great job to hold on to second," but the times make it look like she had it easily. Was it closer than it looks?

No, she always had second place, he probably just meant did a great job to get such a good time.

Yes, I meant that White ran very well to keep the race for first close. I was trying to time the gaps, and it was still only about 8s between Barton and White with 800m to go. Barton is so strong, and used her strength very effectively in the race, but White made her work for the win!
