2009 Weston Invite: Kaufman Wins HH; Hamilton Runs 9:35 Deuce!
Michelle Kaufman ran a nearly flawless race in the finals of the 100m hurdles Saturday night at the Weston Invitational, getting out of the blocks quickly and running in third place through the first set of hurdles, then patiently making up ground and finally edging ahead in at the very end to win in a personal best 15.63.

Kaufman also finished 3rd in the triple jump (34-10.5), and ran a leg on the Tigers' 4x100 relay.
Amy Ren had a good jumping day, leaping 16-4.25 in the long jump, and 34-7.75 in the triple. Jen Liu jumped 15-3 in the long jump, as North looks particularly strong in the horizontal jumps heading towards the state relays, May 16.
The NN boys distance crew continues to impress. At Weston, Dan Hamilton ran a huge PR (9:35.09) in the two mile to place second in a deep field. Hamilton ran a perfectly-paced effort; when the race threatened to bog down on the first lap, he immediately took the lead and brought the pack through the first 400m in 71-72 seconds. Having done his job, he then settled back into fourth place and held that position for the next 1600m. When Amherst's Atticus Brigham made a big move with two laps to go, Hamilton was able to respond and moved into second. Although Brigham powered away for the win, Dan was able to hold on for the runner-up spot. Mike Goldenberg also ran an impressive race, finishing in 9:52.69.
Earlier in the meet, Dan Ranti and Jake Gleason ran in the second heat of the mile, finishing in 4:45.88 and 4:46.68, respectively. In the seeded heat, Jared Forman ran 4:32.70 (2:12 at the 800).
Meanwhile, Ezra Lichtman ran a PR 2:02 in an over-crowded heat of the boys 800. (Sixteen runners on the line for an 800... really?)
In the field events, sophomore Ryan Donovan qualified for the state meet in the shot put with a PR 44-9. Conor Ebbs finished 3rd in the discus with a heave of 132-2, and put the shot 40-5.5. Niel Fulwiler threw the javelin 145-3.

Great meet! I know one thing that woyuld make it better though would be to replace a certain annoucer with the Waldron / Jampol combo. Not sure if Noah could make it back next year but that would be great.
Wow, congrats to Dan and Jared and everyone who is running PR's and doing well! It seems like everyone has really stepped up this year.
